Two Men Arrested After Shots Fired at Deputies in Compton

No one was injured in the incident

Two suspects were arrested after one the men fired several shots at deputies in Compton and both men fled on foot Friday night, according to Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The shooting happened around 9:30 p.m. when a patrol unit attempted to pull over a stolen vehicle. Deputies pursued the vehicle which stopped a short time later in the 700 block of W. Laurel Street. The two suspects exited the vehicle and one suspect pointed a handgun at the deputies and began firing several shots. One of the deputies returned fire, according to LASD.

The suspects ran into a nearby apartment complex where a special weapons team assisted deputies in taking the two suspects into custody.

Neither the deputies or the suspects were injured in the shooting.

The shooting was under investigation.
