Two Metro buses collided on a bustling street just west of downtown Los Angeles Thursday morning, sending nine people, including both bus drivers, to the hospital, firefighters said.
The crash took place just before 8 a.m. on Vermont Avenue near Venice Boulevard in the Pico-Union neighborhood, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.
Twenty-nine people aboard the buses were checked out for injuries, with nine of them – five females and four males – being taken to hospitals by ambulance for non-life-threatening injuries, firefighters said.
The cause of the crash remained unclear.
