A man was killed and a woman critically injured after they were shot on the grounds of a Los Angeles Church late Thursday.
They were gunned down in the area of West Adams Boulevard and South Longwood Avenue in West Adams at around 10:30 p.m, a Los Angeles Police Department said.
Both victims, who may have been transients camping at the scene, were taken to the hospital. The 56-year-old man was shot in the face and the arm and died a couple of hours later. He has been identified and his next of kin are going to be notified. Investigators have not ruled out the shooting possibly being gang related.
Someone was detained, however it was determined he had nothing to do with the shooting and was later released.
