Randy's Donuts in Inglewood is giving away free doughnuts to celebrate its 65th anniversary Wednesday.
'Tis the season to be givin' as July 11 marks the day for two very sweet deals.
In Inglewood, Randy’s Donuts, seen in numerous films including "Iron Man 2" and "Mars Attacks!," celebrates its 60th anniversary today by giving out free doughnuts from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.
The landmark shop -- marked by a giant overhead doughnut visible for blocks -- is located at 805 W. Manchester Blvd. at La Cienega Boulevard (map).
The 24-hour doughnut drive-in will be giving away glazed, chocolate and sugar doughnuts and doughnut holes while supplies lasts.
The store is one of four remaining locations of the former 10-store Big Donut Drive-In chain. Larry and his brother, Rob Weintraub, have owned the store for 35 years.
Larry Weintraub called his store a big tourist destination in Inglewood.
"People make it a destination," Larry Weintraub said. "They've heard about it and they want to come see it."
He expected about 700 to 800 fans for the big birthday celebration Wednesday. The pair of brothers signed autographs at the event.
Planning the big doughnut day has been a "whirlwind," said Weintraub. Without the doughnut shop’s trusted fans, "none of this would be possible."
The store will be giving away T-shirts, free doughnut vouchers, and more to fans during the four-hour duration of the event.
As for those looking to quench their thirst after biting into a free sugary treat, 7-Eleven will be giving away free Slurpees from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., according to the convenience store chain's website.
The store on Wednesday celebrates its 85th birthday by giving out a variety of Slurpee flavors, including sugar-free options.
Slurpees are available at any 7-Eleven while supplies lasts.
