UC Santa Barbara Community Fund Established After Rampage

Six students were killed in a series of shootings and stabbings May 23, 2014 in Isla Vista

A fund was established to honor students killed in the Friday May 23, 2014 rampage in the college town of Isla Vista.

Six students were killed in a series of shootings and stabbings. They have been identified as Veronika Weiss, 19, of Thousand Oaks; Katherine Breann Cooper, 22, of Chino Hills; Christopher Ross Michaels-Martinez, 20, of Los Osos; George Chen, 19, of San Jose; C.H., 20, of San Jose; Weihan Wang, 20, of Fremont.

"We have established a fund, The UC Santa Barbara Community Fund, to honor our students who were victims of this tragedy and to memorialize their lasting impact and contributions to the UC Santa Barbara community," Chancellor Henry T. Yang said in a statement.
