A U.S. Postal worker was arrested in connection with buying prescription drugs from his postal delivery truck while on duty, police said Saturday.

Craig Godshall, 47, of Burbank, was sitting in his vehicle while on his assigned postal route on Friday at 9 a.m. when police -- conducting an investigation into prescription drug sales -- spotted him near 600 North Whitnall Highway, Burbank police said.

Police said they saw him doing a narcotics transaction in a marked United States postal vehicle.

Godshall was booked into the Burbank jail on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance. Burbank police told the Los Angeles Times he allegedly bought Vicodin.

The U.S. Postal Inspector in Burbank was notified of the arrest and responded to take possession of the mail delivery vehicle.
