Unknown Shooter Fires at Car on I-10

One man was shot in the neck after a driver in a gray pickup truck shot at a red Mustang with three people inside.

Los Angeles police Monday were investigating a pre-dawn shooting in which someone in a gray pickup truck fired at three people in a red Mustang on the Santa Monica freeway.

There was no immediate motive for the shooting, police said.

LAPD Sgt. Mike Richardson said Monday that the three people in the Mustang had been at a nightclub before the shooting. They told police that there had been no altercations or fights at the club that might have prompted an attack, he said.

The incident occurred at about 3:15 a.m. in the Mid-City area of Los Angeles. The freeway was partially cloesd after the shooting but has now re-opened.
