Prosecutors have declined to file charges against 15 Venice High School students accused of sexually assaulting two female classmates, a Los Angeles County District Attorney's office spokesman said Wednesday.

Prosecutors determined there was "insufficient evidence" to file charges against the students, who were arrested in March, said Greg Risling of the DA's office.

The investigation centered around accusations that a group of male teenagers pressured two female students, both under the age of 17, into sex acts both on and off the campus.

The allegations came to light after the two girls notified school officials, who then contacted police.

Some of the accused were students who were members of sports teams at the school.
