Two suspects have been arrested in the fatal shooting of 23-year-old youth minister Oscar Duncan, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed Monday.

Duncan was shot in the head around 10:30 p.m. June 4 in the 600 block of Santa Clara Avenue in Venice (map), police said. Duncan was approached by as many as four people in a Honda sedan when the shooting occurred, according to police.

Police have not identified the two suspects in custody, nor other details of the arrests.

Duncan was a youth minister at Greater Zion Church Family in Compton. He was also a popular mentor at the local Boys & Girls Club and an aspiring singer. He was a captain of the Venice High football team and was homecoming king, police said.

A $50,000 reward was offered in the slaying. It was unclear if the reward led to a break in the case.
