Some members of the military will be attending a different kind of boot camp this summer.
A program called Helmets to Hardhats offers veterans the opportunity to explore careers in the contruction industry. The pilot program sponsored by the Southern California Edison Company focuses on utilities.
The Military Veterans Powerline Trainee Summer Boot Camp lasts for five days. Subject matter includes powerline history, introduction to alternative energy, and math and theory.
The program is scheduled for July 27-31.
