A three-county search ended when a 49-year-old man who was allegedly beaten and kidnapped in Placentia was found at a home in Orange County and his alleged captors were arrested Thursday, officials said.
The Irvine man was reportedly beaten, dragged to a nearby car and forcibly pushed into the vehicle before it sped away Wednesday night, according to a witness.
Multiple law enforcement agencies searched Orange, Los Angeles and Riverside counties before finding the victim at a home in Yorba Linda. The man was taken to a hospital in serious condition suffering from fractures and contusions, according to a news release from the Placentia Police Department.
He is expected to survive.
Four people were arrested in connection with the kidnapping, according to Lt. Eric Point. Point said the home that the victim was found in did not belong to any of the suspects and that he had been let go before he was found.
It was unknown whether the victim and suspects knew each other, but the incident was not random, Point said.
