Low test scores, high poverty rate and behavioral problems plague Susie Matthews Academy.
Victorville is home to one of the worst schools in the country.
According to the Victorville Daily Press, Susie Matthews Academy was just ranked the 33rd worst school, out of 100. It's part of a new listing by NeighborhoodScout, a Rhode Island-based research company.
They compared test No Child Left Behind test scores to determine the rankings. At Suzie Matthews, zero students passed the math and language sections of the 2007-2008 tests.
The principal blames it on a high level of violence at the school. Two thirds of the students were expelled from their previous schools. And the poverty rate is high -- about 93 percent of students get free or reduced price lunches.
