Two men held up a Pasadena mom-and-pop store and shot the clerk after a struggle before disappearing, police said.
Police were using bloodhounds to try and find the men after the shooting about 7:45 p.m. on Orange Grove Boulevard between Los Robles and Marengo avenues, said Lt. Art Chute of the Pasadena Police Department. The animals lost the scenet, which suggests the suspects later got into a car.
The search continued well into the night.
"I saw them (police) like, with their flashlights lighting up the street and everything. They did a full search of the whole streets," resident Victor Delao said.
The clerk, who was shot in the upper torso, was in stable condition after being taken to a hospital, police said.
Orange Grove Boulevard was closed between Los Robles and Marengo avenues until about 8:30 p.m., police said.
