OAKLAND – Steph Curry and Klay Thompson combined for 65 points as the Golden State Warriors downed the Los Angeles Clippers 114-98 at Oracle Arena on Wednesday night.

HOW IT HAPPENED
The Clippers were hoping to copy the blueprint of the San Antonio Spurs who held the Splash Brothers in check in their victory over the reigning NBA Champions last week in San Antonio.

Unfortunately for Los Angeles, it was Chris Paul and J.J. Redick who were kept in check while the Splash Brothers ran wild.

Paul and Redick combined for just 19 points on 8-of-29 shooting and were just 2-12 from beyond the arc. By comparison, Curry and Thompson combined for 65 points and hit 11 three-pointers.

Similar to their last four meetings, the Clippers played well in the first quarter and led 28-23 after the first frame. But, the game ended the same way all the others did with the Warriors outlasting Los Angeles in the fourth quarter.

Once again, the Clippers bench gave them problems as the second unit struggled every time they were on the floor. The Warriors backups opened up the second quarter on a 16-to-4 run that gave the Warriors a big lead heading into the half.

On their most recent road trip, the Clippers have uncharacteristically struggled with their perimeter defense and fourth quarter finishes. The Warriors were +21 from beyond the arc and scored a game-high 33 points in the fourth quarter to shut the door.
