A water main break flooded a San Fernando Valley intersection Monday morning, leaving about 30 customers without water and forcing street closures.
The 6-inch pipe break was reported at about 1:30 a.m. near the intersection of Haskell Avenue and Leadwell Street in Van Nuys. Water was shut off about 40 minutes later, allowing crews to begin repairs on a section of street that buckled.
Service was restored at about 9 a.m.
The break involved a pipe installed in 1929, according to the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power.
