Man Arrested on Suspicion of Murder After Missing Dancer's Body Found

The body of a missing 27-year-old West Covina dancer was discovered along an Azusa road a day before police announced Sunday a man was arrested on suspicion of murder. 

The arrest the case of the missing 27-year-old professional dancer whose vehicle was found in West Covina was announced by police Saturday night, but the accused wasn't identified until Sunday.

Rahkeem "Rocky'" Reyes was last seen about 5:40 p.m. Monday and his unoccupied vehicle was found later the same day in the 1500 block of McWood Street, according to the West Covina Police Department. 

His body was discovered in Azusa Canyon along Azusa Avenue Mile Marker 2.5 at 10:30 a.m. Saturday.

Phillip Von Wade, 20, of West Covina, was arrested Thursday in connection with Reyes' disappearance, West Covina police Lt. David Lee said Sunday.

He was arrested on suspicion of murder and was held on $1 million bail, police said.

Family friend Ronda Hampton told the San Gabriel Valley Tribune Reyes' car was found running and all of his belongings, including his laptop, wallet and other items were inside.

"Rocky is a professional dancer who has danced in several dance videos, movies, commercials and live stage performances,'' Hampton said, adding that he had never gone missing before, making his disappearance particularly alarming to his family.
