2 People With Burns Detained After West Hills House Fire

Police have detained two people hospitalized with burns after an explosive fire broke out at a possible drug house in West Hills on Saturday night, officials said.

Firefighters kept their distance from the flames in the 6500 block of N. Ellenview Avenue as there were possibly charged electrical lines down in the house, officials with the Los Angele Fire Department said.

The two people with burns were found at a different address several blocks away from the fire, LAFD officials said. They were taken to the hospital with injuries described as severe.

Officers discovered marijuana growing in the garage, Los Angeles Police Department officials said. The cause of the fire was not immediately clear.

Neighbors reported hearing multiple explosions and saw the garage "pop like popcorn."
