Man Drives for Help After Being Shot in Face

A man in a car in South Los Angeles was shot in the face in what appeared to be a gang-related shooting and drove several blocks to the Inglewood border before he stopped and met paramedics and police, authorities said Thursday.

The shooting occurred after 10 p.m. Wednesday in the 1800 block of West 75th Street, near Western Avenue, said Sgt. Jim Lewis of the Los Angeles Police Department's 77th Street Station.
The man drove to Manchester and Van Ness avenues, and Inglewood police relayed information to Los Angeles police at 10:33 p.m., Lewis said.
The victim was hospitalized with injuries that were not considered life-threatening, Lewis said.
