Wife Accused of Killing Husband, Fleeing With Children

Family members mourned the loss on Thursday of a Victorville father shot to death inside his home allegedly by his wife who is now on the run with the couple's two young daughters.

Adriene Smith, who tried to cope with the violent death of his twin brother Antione, said he is going to miss "hanging around with him, going places, talking to him."

Adriene last talked to his brother on April 30, their birthday. Last Saturday, he tried to call and text Antione, but there was no answer.

Then on Wednesday came the horrifying news that Antione had been found shot to death inside a locked bedroom at his Victorville home.

"Everybody's very devastated," said Rochelle, Adriene's girlfriend.

San Bernardino County Sheriff's investigators believe Antione was killed by his wife Leticia. They said it appears the 33-year-old suspect took off with the couple's two daughters, Isabel, 8, and 4-year-old Abigail.

Leticia's mother said Antione and Leticia were having serious marital problems. Neighbors often heard them arguing. Antione's family members are worried for the safety of the two girls.

"We just want everything put to rest and bring those babies back," said Katie Folliotdefierville, an aunt.

Perhaps no one wants them back more than Adriene, who had a special bond with his brother only a twin would understand.

"Please bring them kids back safe, safe and sound," Adriene Smith said.
