Former Mission Hills High School Teacher Allegedly Had Sex With Students

William Eick, 32, taught at Bishop Alemany High School between 2009 and 2016.

Police Wednesday sought additional possible victims of a former Mission Hills high school teacher who allegedly had unlawful sex with at least two students.

William Eick, 32, taught at Bishop Alemany High School between 2009 and 2016, according to the Los Angeles Police Department. He resigned from his teaching position last October, after he was suspended, said Adrian Marquez, a spokesperson for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.

"He met his victims/students in his capacity as a teacher, and took advantage of his position to gain their trust," LAPD Officer Aareon Jefferson alleged. "Eick then engaged in sexual intercourse with them."

A female student who has accused Eick of having sex with her when she was a student at the school notified school administrators and police.

"The second victim ironically enough, went to the same college as the first victim," said Detective Nicole Kittle of the LAPD's Sexual Assault Unit. "And they did not know that each other were victims until the first one reported, and the second one said, 'Wait a minute. What do you mean you were a victim? I was too.'"

An arrest warrant alleging unlawful sex with a minor and oral copulation was issued for Eick, who was accompanied by his lawyer when he turned himself in on Tuesday at the San Fernando courthouse, police said.

He posted bail -- the amount was not immediately available -- and was released later the same day, according to the LAPD.

Bishop Alemany High School sent a message to school families Wednesday informing them of the accusations and arrest.

"The safety and well-being of our students is of utmost priority at Bishop Alemany," the message read. "Please join me in offering prayers for all impacted by this matter."

"Detectives believe there may be additional victims of other unreported incidents, and are asking for the public's assistance in locating them," Jefferson said.

Police circulated a photo of Eick, and urged anyone with information on the case to call them at (818) 838-9969, or (877) LAPD-247.
