A wind advisory, indicating winds of 35 mph, will be in effect until 2 p.m. for the San Gabriel and Santa Monica mountains, coastal areas, metropolitan Los Angeles, the Hollywood Hills and both the Santa Clarita and San Fernando valleys. In Orange County, the advisory was scheduled to expire at 10 p.m.
"The winds should die down later on today," said NBC4 forecaster Elita Loresca. "That will lead to some calmer winds Friday and into the weekend."
The strongest winds will be over the Ventura County coastal plain and along the Malibu coast between the county line and Pacific Palisades,' according to a National Weather Service advisory.
Expect clear skies for most of Southern California. Temperatures will be a few degrees warmer than Wednesday, according to the NWS.
