Windows Smashed as Vandals Damage Palmdale High School: Deputies

Vandals did $27,000 worth of damage at a north Los Angeles high school Saturday night, authorities said.

Palmdale High School was dotted with obscene or profane graffiti, 37 marks in total, LA County Sheriff's deputies said in a press release.

Witnesses saw three or four young men smashing vehicle windows at the school, in an incident reported to authorities at about 11:45 p.m. No one was caught in the apparent break-in, according to the statement.

Unable to gain entrance to the school, deputies couldn't assess the extent of the damage the vandals caused.

Six cars and a pickup truck had smashed windows, deputies said, and three school windows were broken as well. Deputies found a broken computer monitor nearby, and estimated that total damage to Palmdale High School was $27,000, the press release said.

Palmdale station sheriff's detectives asked anyone with any information regarding the incident to call them at 661-272-2400.
