Rain is expected over the weekend, adding another element to the blast of cold air socking Southern California.
Rain is expected in Los Angeles County late Friday, possibly after midnight, with the chance of measurable precipitation set at a high 70 percent. Rainfall is also expected Saturday morning from the fast-moving storm.
There's another chance of rain Sunday, but showers will be scattered.
High temperatures Sunday in the LA basin and inland Orange County will top out in the high-50s. Overnight lows will dip into the mid-40s.
No rain is expected Monday or Tuesday, but wet weather returns Wednesday and Thursday. The mid-week storm appears likely to produce more rain and last longer than the weekend storms.
The triple-threat of storms comes after this week's break from days of steady rain and snow that added to California's impressive rain and snowfall totals for February.
