The woman was attacked in her front yard in the 1400 block of E. Covina Hills Road at 8:50 a.m.

When the officer showed up, three large dogs were biting the woman.

The officer tried to divert the dogs’ attention, and then the dogs turned on him and began chasing him.

The officer fired his gun at the charging dogs.

The German shepherds were frightened by the shots and ran into a neighbor’s yard.

No bullets hit any of the animals.
