Riverside Woman Jumps Between Daughter and Three Pit Bulls

The woman drove herself to the hospital after her daughter called 911 during the attack

Three pit bull dogs have been quarantined by Riverside Animal Control after an attack Monday night.

"I just heard a ruckus, an argument ," said Tyriell Stanford, neighbor. "I thought it was a fight, actually, and then I heard from my neighbor the next day that somebody got bit."

Police said the victim was a woman who lives at the Crown Pointe apartments in Riverside.

"She's very lucky," said Riverside Animal Control officer John Welsh. "These were three big dogs and they came after her. And she's a very brave woman. She stood between the dogs and her daughter."

The dogs could be euthanized, and their owner is accused of having too many of them.

"This is a man who apparently had five large dogs, all pit bulls," Welsh said. "And they were living in a one apartment."

The woman drove herself to the hospital. During the attack it was her daughter who called 911 for help.
