Investigators were searching for a hit-and-run driver early Tuesay morning after a woman was fatally struck by a vehicle in Pico Rivera, authorities said.
The crash was reported around 4:23 a.m in the 9100 block of Whittier Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.
The woman was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver's vehicle was described by deputies as a dark-colored mid-size truck.
Whittier Boulevard at Lindsey Avenue was temporarily closed to traffic.
Investigators said they have spoken with witnesses, but are encouraging more to step forward with information.
