A woman was shot and killed Sunday on a sidewalk in South Los Angeles, police said.
The shooting happened about 5 p.m. on 82nd Street, east of Vermont Avenue, Los Angeles police said.
Responding officers found the woman lying on the sidewalk and paramedics tried, but failed, to save her life, the LAPD said. Her name was withheld pending notification of kin.
A motive for the shooting was unknown.
Police have no suspect at this time.
