Detectives were searching for the gunman who shot a more than a dozen bullets into a family's home while they were sleeping early Thursday, injuring one woman.
Neighbors described the family living in the home in the 12100 block of McKinley Avenue in Willowbrook as "good, church going people."
Domitilo Juarez, who lives nearby, said he was jolted out of bed by the sound of bullets spraying the home just before 1:30 a.m.
A woman was hit by one of the bullets and taken to the hospital where she was in stable condition, officials said.
"I was actually going to get into the bed and then i heard the shots," another neighbor, Cameron, said. "I just kneeled down on the ground and waited for it to stop."
He said there were young kids living at the the home and couldn't understand why anyone would target them.
"Nice people churchgoers," he said. "I can't say anything bad about them honestly."
Sheriff's deputies said they had very little to go on and there were no leads into the case as of yet.

"I just hope they don't come back," Cameron said. " I hope nothing else happens tonight because you never know, you don't know who you're dealing with if they would do that with kids in the house, it's dangerous."
