The woman's daughter was taken into custody in Oregon, according to police

A 61-year-old woman whose body was found at a Woodland Hills home Thursday night suffered a single gunshot wound, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The body was found at 8:15 p.m. Thursday at a home in the 5600 block of Mason Avenue. The woman's daughter was identified by police as the suspect.

The daughter, who rents the home with several roommates, was taken into custody in Oregon. One of the roommates discovered the victim's body on a bed.

"She has admitted involvement in this crime," said Los Angeles Police Department Lt. Dave Storaker.
