Wreckage Found in Desert May Be Missing Plane

The small aircraft was headed to Henderson, near Las Vegas, when it fell off radar.

Wreckage of a small plane was found Wednesday morning on rural in San Bernardino County, possibly of an aircraft that went missing while flying to Henderson, Nevada.

A Beechcraft Bonanza flying to Henderson, near Las Vegas, from California City in Kern County, disappeared off radar around 8 p.m. Tuesday night, according to FAA spokesman Ian Gregor.

Two people were reportedly aboard the flight, Gregor said.

The wreckage was found on Bureau of Land Management grounds in the Clark mountain range about 40 miles southwest of Henderson.

San Bernardino County Fire Department confirmed that the wreckage was reported at 12:48 a.m. in an area west of the 15 Freeway, just southwest of Bailey Road in the desert.

The plane has not yet been positively identified as the missing aircraft.
