Stories that include the words "wheelchair," "freeway" and "wrong-way" don't always end well. But thankfully an elderly woman who took her motorized wheelchair onto the northbound Escondido (215) Freeway managed to survive with no injuries.

Around noon, the woman took the McCall Boulevard exit ramp onto the 215 Freeway in Sun City, as her husband chased after her, according to the California Highway Patrol.

Motorists immediately began stopping their vehicles to help her, and she was directed off the road and into a Wendy's parking lot on McCall, according to the CHP.

The woman appeared to be disoriented, but was uninjured, according to the CHP.
