Killer Sought in Stabbing of Teenager at Lynwood Laundromat Parking Lot

The stabber fled the scene on a bike.

Authorities on Tuesday are looking for the attacker who fatally stabbed a 16-year-old boy at a parking lot of a Lynwood laundromat.

The stabbing occurred at around 4 p.m. Monday in the 11900 block of Long Beach Boulevard, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

The teen was with his mother at the laundromat when he stepped outside to get something from the family car when the stabbing occurred. He was speaking his attacker when he was stabbed in the upper torso, authorities said. The motive of the stabbing was unknown.

The attacker then rode on his bicycle south on Long Beach Boulevard and out of view, authorities said. He was described as a male Hispanic, 25 to 40 years old, with a thin build and multiple tattoos.

The teen's mother took him to the hospital, where he died.

"For a mother to see their son pass away like that in front of her eyes...she's not going to be well," Christian Bonilla, the victim's cousin said.

County coroner's officials identified him as William Escamilla.

Escamilla's devastated family is pleading the public for help in identifying the teenager's killer.

"I want him back but I know that's not possible," Stephanie Madrid, Escamilla's sister, said. "I just want (the attacker) to be in jail to pay for what he did to my brother."

Detectives are investigating surveillance footage from the scene.
