Children in Amber Alert Found, Parents Still Being Sought

    An Amber Alert issued for four children was canceled Tuesday afternoon after authorities found them near the US-Mexico border in California, but the parents were still being sought.

    Earlier Tuesday, police changed the description of the car a missing family may be driving days after an alert was issued.

    The children were allegedly taken by force from their grandmother's Los Angeles home by their non-custodial parents on March 14, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.

    Police originally described the possible vehicle as a dark plum or gray Chrysler PT Cruiser with no official state tag. But early Tuesday, LAPD officials said they are now looking for a green Ford Expedition SUV with the California plate #4LPF643.

    The children were seen before the alert at their grandmother's home in the 1400 block of Indian Street in Los Angeles' Boyle Heights neighborhood at 12:30 p.m. Friday, police said. Police said the parents may have a history of violent behavior.

    The father, Enrique Felix, is described as a Hispanic man, 28 years old, 5 feet 10 inches tall with black hair and brown eyes. The mother, Rose Chaidez, is described as a Hispanic woman, 5 feet 2 inches tall with red hair and brown eyes.

    The children were identified as 7-year-old Enrique Felix, 5-year-old Justin Felix and 1-year-old twins Veronica Felix and Janeth Felix.
