Man Holed Up for Hours in Palos Verdes Arrested on Murder Charges

A 29-year-old's body was found in a shallow grave in Riverside, prompting a search warrant at the Palos Verdes home.

A 55-year-old man suspected of murder was arrested in Rancho Palos Verdes after barricading himself in a bedroom for hours, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department said Monday.

Anthony Depiazza, 29, was believed to be murdered in the Rancho Palos Verdes home in the 2000 block of Van Karajan Drive, and dumped in a shallow grave in Riverside County in Nov. 2015.

The 55-year-old suspect, whose name was not released, was the primary suspect, and as authorities went to the home to serve a search warrant, the man holed himself up in a bedroom for several hours.

Eventually he surrendered and he was arrested. Several others were detained.

Investigators searched the home for evidence after the ordeal had ended.
