A man and a woman were arrested for a carjacking at gunpoint Wednesday after connecting with the victim on a dating application.
Moreno Valley Police responded to a report of a carjacking at approximately 6:20 a.m. near the 13600 block of Phyllis Avenue in Moreno Valley.
The victim told police that he had arranged to meet at the location on a popular mobile dating application. Police did not say which dating app was used by the suspects.
When he arrived at the meeting spot, he told police that he was confronted by a male and a female who carjacked him at gunpoint. The victim gave police a detailed description of the male, including various tattoos.
Police identified the suspect as Christian Duran, 21, based on the description. They were unable to locate him or the stolen vehicle, but received reports of another carjacking near the 21000 block of Bay Avenue in Moreno Valley at approximately 6:45 p.m., which police said they believe was also carried out by Duran and the female.
At approximately 1 p.m. on Thursday, police located Duran at his residence in Moreno Valley, where he was arrested. He was booked on suspicion of assault with a deadly weapon and other crimes at Robert Presley Detention Center.
His initial court date was set for Tuesday.

After continued investigation and tracking, police located the female suspect. The female suspect is a minor and was taken into custody at Juvenile Hall.
