‘Armed, Dangerous' Man Wanted in Connection With Multiple Violent Crimes, Murder: Police

Police continued searching for a man accused of leading police on a carjacking chase after authorities announced he was also involved in a double shooting in Burbank, police said Saturday.

Artyom Gasparyan, 32, was considered armed and dangerous, Burbank police said.

He was last seen after jumping from a car during a pursuit in the Carson area on New Year's Day, police said.

Gasparyan was wanted in connection with a series of violent crimes in Los Angeles County before the chase, police announced Saturday.

Police said Gasparyan was a suspect in a Dec. 6 shooting in the 1700 block of North Catalina Street that left a resident and a gardener hurt.

Gasparyan was also believed to be connected to a series of shootings on Dec. 30 that left one dead in the Valley area, police said.

On New Year’s Day, Gasparyan was allegedly in the vehicle when he and another suspect led police on a chase in a stolen Volkswagen in Carson.

During the pursuit, one of the two got out of the car and fired shots at people in a Dodge Durango, but they were unharmed.

Gasparyan then got into a Passat and took off.

Police were still searching for Gasparyan Saturday, describing him as 5-foot 7-inches tall, weighing 170 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.

The other suspect in the carjacking chase went into a Long Beach home and shot the family in the home before shooting himself, police said.

He was accused of entering a home in the 3300 block of Daisy Avenue and stabbing a man in the face with a kitchen knife, police said.

The family members suffered injuries, but were expected to recover.

The suspect was in grave condition.

Carrie Babin, a Burbank resident, said she was still scared after one of her neighbors was shot in his driveway, and a gardener was shot down the street.

"You don't want to be random because then it's just scary that it could be any of us," Babin said.
