Around 6:15 p.m., the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department received two phone calls about a man running through the campus with a gun, authorities said.

Deputies arrived and searched the area, and after several sweeps said there was no gunman.

LASD said there was no lockdown on campus.

The school is located at 1301 Avenida Cesar Chavez in Monterey Park.

Students tweeted that there was a heavy police presence on campus around 7 p.m.
