Attack of the Corgis: Hundreds of PupsTake Over in Huntington Beach SoCal Corgi Day in

SoCal Corgi Beach Day saw 725 of the low-riding canines in its fall gathering Saturday.

Wiggling "momos," wagging tongues and an all-around joyful event for dog lovers everywhere -- SoCal Corgi Beach Day had its fall gathering Saturday, and almost 725 of the low-riding, full-of-life canines attended the largest bash of their kind in Huntington Beach.

The gathering, hosted by Purina Beyond, was filled with plenty of corgi activities and photo opportunities: A "corgi-lebrity" kissing booth, a VW fan photo booth, and contests for the more competitive corgis including a costume contest, a best "momo" (corgi butt) contest, a talent competition and a limbo competition.

The day also raised close to $1,000 for Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue, a Southern California corgi rescue.

"We are thrilled that SoCal Corgi Beach Day continues to grow," said Kelly McLemore, co-founder of SoCal Corgi Beach Day. "We love that we can continue to find creative ways to raise more funds, food and adoptions for Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue while helping people get crazy with their corgis in the process."

The event was hosted a doggies' farmers market with dog food and treat samples available to perusing pups.

Purina encouraged attendees to tag their photos with #CorgiBeachDay and @BeyondPetFood to reach its goal of donating up to 1,000 pounds of dog food to Queen's Best Stumpy Dog Rescue.

"Our goal is to provide a safe, natural pet food for corgis and pet owners alike," said Kristen Aldenderfer, Purina Beyond Brand manager.
