Watch: Robber Grabs Cash Directly From Subway Register

Police were looking for an armed robber who targeted fast food restaurants in Orange County

Authorities were looking for who they believe is the same armed robber targeting fast food restaurants across Orange County.

The latest incident occurred late Thursday at a Subway restaurant in Garden Grove, according to the city's police department. Shortly after 10 p.m., a man walked into the shop at 13961 Harbor Blvd., told employees he was armed and demanded money. He walked out with an undisclosed amount of cash.

Just 30 minutes before, another armed robbery occurred at a Del Taco restaurant in the 1300 block of East Katella Ave. in Orange, according to police Sgt. Jennifer Amat. A handgun was seen in the man's waistband, but he did not brandish it, Amat said.

Another incident where the robber was armed happened around 8 p.m. at another Subway restaurant in Fountain Valley, police said. The man threatened employees with a gun and took off with cash.

On Wednesday night, a robber took cash directly from the cash register at another Subway on Bolsa Avenue and Beach Boulevard in Westminster, said Cpl. Allen Aoiki.

Police say in each occurrence, no one was hurt. Officials have noticed a pattern in these robberies, which leads them to believe the armed robber is responsible for reach occurrence.

The fast food restaurant robberies began on July 11 and the armed man has been successful throughout every attempt.

The descriptions of the robber in all four incidents were vague, but similar. He was armed with a gun and wearing dark clothing.

The man was described to be betweeen ages 25 to 35, 6 feet 2 inches tall and has short hair.

Anyone with information regarding these robberies is urged to contact the Garden Grove Police Department at (714)741-5800.
