Burglary Suspect Killed in Officer-Involved Shooting in Hollywood Hills

No officers were injured.

An armed burglary suspect was shot and killed by police in Hollywood Saturday, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

The shooting occurred in the 1800 block of Nichols Canyon Road after a resident came home to find a man burglarizing his house, the LAPD said.

The resident called 911 and the suspect took off with stolen items. 

The LAPD set up a perimeter in the neighborhood and roads were blocked off.

The man was spotted by a police helicopter, and officers on the ground were alerted.

An altercatiion occurred between two officers and the burglary suspect. 

Officers shot the man.

Police said the man had a handgun on him and died at the scene.

Neighbors said they heard about 10 gunshots.

The LAPD wouldn't comment on whether the man fired at officers.

No officers were injured.
