The 16-year-old case of a missing San Bernardino County boy will be featured on a race car this weekend in Fontana.
Kevin Conway's ExtenZe Toyota will have pictures and information about the case of Jack Daniel Phillips on its deck lid. Conway's No. 87 will be in the Royal Purple 300 NASCAR Nationwide race at Auto Club Speedway this weekend in Fontana.
Jack was 9 years old when he disappeared in August 1995.
"We just want to step up and do our part to dust off this case the best we can," said Conway, 2010 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series Rookie-of-the-Year. "With the reach and platform NASCAR gives us, we hope that by carrying images and contact information on our car of the Phillips case we will reach that one person out there that may know something that could help solve this case."
Authorities said Jack went to play at the Aspen Campground, less than one mile from his house, at about 5:30 p.m., Aug. 6, 1995. Jack's mother reported him missing after he had not returned before dark.
Authorities searched for Jack using horses, all-terrain vehicles and helicopters, and informational fliers were distributed from Big Bear to Bakersfield.
