After a chilly start to February with rain and hail storms in much of Southern California, Los Angeles will warm up for the weekend before cool, wet weather returns next week.
The temperatures will peak Friday in the upper 70s and 80s but will dip by Tuesday into the 40s and 50s.
“A warming trend will continue a nice spike in temperature readings,” said NBC4 meteorologist Elita Loresca. “Wind advisories also in effect, but the wet weather will be returning.”
Wind advisories will remain in effect until 3 p.m. Saturday for the Inland Empire and inland Orange County.
“The good news is these winds will be brief,” Loresca said.
Friday afternoon will see temperatures in the upper-70s and low-80s in the valleys, Inland Empire, metro LA, inland Orange County and low-desert communities.
“Sunday will transition into not only some weaker winds but some cooler temperatures as well,” Loresca said.

By Tuesday, temperatures in the warmer areas will drop into the 50s and 60s with a 30 to 60 percent chance of rain.
Coastal areas will see highs in the upper-70s for the weekend, drop to the 50s by Monday and have a 30 to 40 percent chance of rain mid-week.
Temperatures in mountain areas will be in the high 40s and low 50s Friday and Saturday. Highs will be down into the 30s by Tuesday with lows in the teens and a chance of snow.
