    At least 13 people were hurt when a Metro Blue Line trash crashed into a van in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday, March 4, 2014.

    At least 13 people were hurt after a Metro Blue Line train collided with a van Tuesday morning, officials said.

    The crash was reported about 9:55 a.m. in the 300 block of Washington Boulevard in downtown Los Angeles, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

    At least 13 train riders were hurt in the crash, fire officials said. Two people were in serious condition.

    The driver of the van may have been running a red light on Maple Avenue when the train crashed into it, fire officials said.

    Video from the scene showed extensive damage to the driver's side of the car (pictured at right).
