Careers Through Culinary Arts Program

C-CAP (Careers through Culinary Arts program)16th annual cooking competition for scholarship was recently held in LA at The Art Institute and the winners were annouced yesterday at The Four Seasons. All students earn full or partial scholarship money ranging in value from $500 to $88,596, to premiere local culinary colleges and to some of the most prestigious culinary schools in the country. Students will also receive cash awards to help defray the costs of books, supplies, housing, and other expenses while at college.
 

Within a two-hour time limit, each competitor will prepare from memory a two-course French dinner including: 
Sûpreme Poulet Chasseur avec Pommes Château
(Hunter’s Chicken with Turned, Sauteed Potatoes) and
Crêpes Sucrées with Crème Pâtissière and Sauce au Chocolat
(Dessert Crepes with Pastry Cream and Chocolate Sauce). 

CHAYA Restaurant Group and Chef Shigefumi Tachibe from Chaya Brasserie in Beverly Hills adopted three high schools and winners from the competition and three others won a $56k from The Art Institute (North Hollywood, Santa Monica) and Amanda Avila from Sylmar won a four-year full scholarship to Johnson & Wales valued at $92K.
