Pursuit of Attempted Murder Suspect Ends in Crash in Carson

Police were pursuing an attempted murder suspect in unincorporated LA County Saturday before the chase ended in a crash, the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed.

Reports of the chase in the Carson area came in around 9:50 p.m.

The driver, identified by police as Alejandro Jimenez, was detained after crashing the car into a building at Alameda and East Van Buren Street.

The short pursuit only lasted about five minutes after beginning at 209th Street and Western Avenue. 

The driver was taken away on a stretcher following the collision.

About five miles away from the crash, a second pursuit that originated in the Huntington Beach area ended.

It wasn't immediately clear what the driver was wanted for in the second pursuit.
