A rapper from Southern California was identified Friday as a man who died after being shot inside a suite at the Palms Casino Resort in Las Vegas one day earlier.

Evan Plunkett, 25, was gunned down about 9:20 p.m. Thursday after a fight erupted between Plunkett and three other men during a party in the hotel's Fantasy Tower, officials said. Police and friends told NBC 4 that the fight broke out during the filming of a music video.

Plunkett died at the hospital of a gunshot wound to the chest, according to the Clark County Coroner.

Plunkett's Facebook page listed his hometown as Encino. He was enlisted as a former jet engine mechanic in San Diego for the Marine Corps and rapped under the name "Hollywood Will," according to the page.

The three men in the fight fled the scene and have not yet been found by police.

About 40 to 50 people were at the party, and the hotel was temporarily locked down after the shooting.

The Palms is home to some of the most extravagant party suites in Las Vegas, including a 9,000-square-foot Sky Villa that rents for $40,000 a night and a Hardwood Suite that features a private basketball court.
