Sony's "The Interview" is now available to watch on digital platforms and will screen in some 300 Theaters starting Christmas Day.
The movie is available for rental starting Wednesday including Google Play, YouTube Movies, Microsoft's Xbox Video and a separate Sony website, Sony Pictures announced. It costs $5.99 to stream and $14.99 to purchase.
"The Interview" will open in over 300 theaters on Thursday, including in Southern California.
Vintage Cinemas has showings on Thursday at its Los Feliz theater, 1822 N. Vermont Ave.
The Crest Theater in Westwood will show the movie starting Thursday afternoon and will continue for at least four days.
Regency Theatres plans to show the film at its cinemas in Azusa, Agoura Hills, Granada Hills, Commerce, Van Nuys, Westminster, Perris and Riverside.
Laemmle Theatres stated on Twitter that it had "other film commitments" on Christmas, but the film is expected to open on Dec. 31 in North Hollywood.

The nonprofit group Cinefamily posted on Twitter that it would like to show the film at The Silent Movie Theater on Fairfax Avenue in Los Angeles.
Three Coachella Valley theaters will show "The Interview." Cinemas Palme D'Or in Palm Desert will have two Christmas night screenings of the film.
Camelot Theatres in Palm Springs and UltraStar Cinemas' Mary Pickford Theatre in Cathedral City will show the movie Christmas morning through at least New Year's Day, according to their websites.
Regency Theatres plans to show the film beginning Thursday at the University Village 10 theater, 1201-A University Ave., in Riverside, and at the Perris 10 complex, 1688 N. Perris Blvd.
Sony announced the on-demand release just one day after reversing a previous decision not to show the film at all after hackers released thousands of internal Sony documents and threatened moviegoers with violence. The decision not to release the film was widely criticized, with President Barack Obama one of Sony's harshest critics.
