Driver in Custody After High-Speed Hollywood Chase

A speeding driver who flew through Hollywood streets up to 100 mph and stopped twice during the pursuit was taken into custody Thursday night.

The chase began in Burbank where officers pursued him until eventually backing off because he was going too fast, Burbank police said.

The man, in a white luxury sedan, sped through Hollywood surface streets and along the 101 Freeway.

At one point, the driver got out of his car, ran through a residential area and got back into his car and sped away.

Shortly after getting back into his car, the driver then pulled over again and got out of the car, when police took him into custody on a residential sidewalk.
