The cable company announced via Twitter about 4:45 p.m. it was having an issue with transmitting the feed from Fox. The outage affected Southern California stations KTTV (Fox), KCAL and KTLA analog and standard-definition feeds.

The feed returned just after 6 p.m., TWC officials said on Twitter.

Frustrated football viewers reached out to NBC4 with angry complaints of not being able to view the game.

"Time Warner cable is showing a black screen on channel 11. No more Super Bowl for TWC subscribers!" NBC4 viewer Michael Billinghurst said via Facebook.

"The HD channel isn't even working," NBC4 viewer Susie Hirscher-Linde said via Facebook. "Seriously TWC - the game of the year and we're missing it."

The cable company apologized for the inconvenience.
