Police Investigate Dead Body Near WB 10 Fwy

A white pickup truck was found abandoned on an overpass directly above where the body was found

Police on Tuesday were investigating how a man's body ended up on an on-ramp to the 10 Freeway near Colton when a white pickup was found abandoned on an overpass, police said.

Police were investigating the incident as a possible suicide after receiving a call about a body on the on-ramp to the westbound 10 Freeway at 2:12 p.m., said Colton Police Detective Ray Mendez. The body was described as that of a 30- to 40-year-old man.

A white pickup truck was on the 215 Freeway transition bridge directly above where the body was found, Mendez said.

The investigation on the roadway backed up traffic during Tuesday evening rush hour.

The San Bernardino Sun reported a headless body was found along the road, but police could not immediately confirm whether that was true.

The man's name was not immediately released pending notification of family members.
